할머니“HALMEONI”
Accompanying excerpt to the piece:
My mooncake tin holds a moment in time; a lunch date with my late Grandma. Organized in a grid, the square tiles are windows into different landscapes of my memory of her. I remember her wrinkled but sturdy fingers — worn from a lifetime as a seamstress. I remember her dusty gray hair aged atop her concentrated brow. I remember the wrinkles above her pursed mouth taking in an indulgent sip of soup, always released with a smile of satisfaction.
My memory is not a complete or continuous image, rather windows of these memorable characteristics that when pieced together express her thoughtful and tender disposition that transcend the limits of her portrait or event.
Graphite drawing on museum board, adhered to a recycled moon cake tin.
