ULTRAVIOLET: A Book on Color
A didactic book dedicated to the color ultraviolet. The book is intended to be viewed in two ways: by page and in its entirety. The format of the catalogue is an accordion fold-out in which a conventional textbook narrative is pieced together along the center of each page and an unfolding index frames the top and bottom of each page. When the book is completely unfolded, the book becomes one large snapshot of all of the information.
The Ultraviolet Book challenges the conventional notion of interpreting information and utilizes the spatializing and rotation of text as a tool to process information differently. The book proposes a way to read that is simultaneously simple and chaotic, readable and unreadable, and traditional and different.
